Shopaholic to the Stars
by Sophie Kinsella
2.5
This is the worst book in the series thus far: over-the-top nonsense. Maybe it’s me... I’ve never understood celebrity obsession and never had any interest in them whatsoever.
Becky is cruel and self-absorbed in this book. I felt sorry for her Dad, Luke, and Suze throughout. All Becky cares about was her own vapid nonsense, sometimes at the expense of her family and friends.
The whole plot line about her Dad and Tarquin running away seems a bit “out there” to me. I know we lost the plot for these books somewhere around #3 but this is just getting ridiculous.
There is NO point to this book other than to create a set-up for the next book. I am really disappointed that this series continues beyond #3 but I’ve come this far, I will see it through, albeit grudgingly.
