Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah
3.0
I can’t deny that I enjoyed this book. I was looking for a something to break me out of my phone habit and shake off my reading cobwebs while being constantly interrupted by kids, work, and every distraction imaginable. The story kept me completely engaged and the writing was simple yet beautiful. However, like so many of this particular genre, the last 1/3 of the book falls flat and loses any magic I had been excitedly anticipating. Frustrating to feel like I could have written a better ending, and am starting to wonder if this epidemic is caused by editorial control. I feel like the writer had it in her to give the readers more. Still, makes a great, quick read, perfect for a vacation, being sick in bed, or just needing to be taken away for a bit.
