A lovely read, that in my opinion finally deserves (at least some of) the hype. While the love-triangle-murder-plot feels a bit plump and predictable, the descriptions of nature and the deep looks into the human soul and its' abysses are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. You can see that the author knows what she is talking about, when she often describes the flora and fauna around the protagonist in more detail, than the human (inter-)actions. And she paints an emotional picture of a strong, yet stricken woman that (seemingly) always had to fight for herself to survive, that had to endure all she had to endure from a very small age onwards, just to be let down once again by the people that are nearest to her.
