My Reading Life by Pat Conroy

5.0

I got this as a library DL to my Nook and within two chapters, I knew I had to have a physical copy for my library. I've read a couple of books by Pat Conroy and knew I liked his style of writing (lots of others don't) but wow, after reading this small gem of a book, I am a devoted fan and will read everything else by him.

He writes small essays about who and what were the greatest impacts on his reading life, from his mother to a beloved English teacher, the novel Gone With The Wind, a favorite bookstore, The Old New York Book Shop in Atlanta, GA, other authors and locales that shaped him as a writer. I laughed, cried, reread sentences over and over, and this book touched my soul, reaffirming my feelings of why I love to read. Another all time favorite.
