The Cursed Hermit by Kris Bertin

fast-paced

3.0

This solves first volume's problem of having a little too much on the plate, too many mysteries and supernatural plots vying for your attention. Spotlighting fewer members of the main cast and going all in on the trippy horror sequences are also laudable features.
But thematically this is, unfortunately, very rote. "Relics of pariarchal and colonial past were still very much alive in the 90s and it is very, very bad." Whatever. I am too old for this shit.
