I was really impressed that this was Heather Gudenkauf's debut novel and I enjoyed it more than some of her other novels. I took off half a star because I didn't like Louis' family's plot line and I felt like it didn't really add much to the story. It made me disappointed in him at the end rather than keeping me rooting for him.
