the last story has to be my favorite by far. this “novella in pieces” was a fantastic read. Eric LaRoca could honestly write anything and i’d read it but this may be the thing that sold me on their writing. He put together a collection of short stories and “novelettes” that seemingly have nothing in common other than being strange and scary in a way that flowed so beautifully I hated ever having to put it down. Some of the stories were not as gripping as others, mostly because of how short they were, but they were still incredible. one of my favorite things an author can do (intentionally or not) is use a title or notable line from one of their other works in a book and the ever so slight mention of “you’ve lost a lot of blood” was such a fun thing for me to notice! definitely recommend!
