Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton
4.0

I was a bit worried reading this book after the second book fell into the sequel slump, but this series definitely ended with a bang.

Firstly, Hamilton learned her lesson and put a CHARACTER CHART in the front of the book. You could refresh over who some of the characters were as well as who was still alive/death/missing, etc. Super helpful and I wish she did it last book.

Other things I liked was Amani getting a bit of her sass back, which was great because she was boring last book. We also got more time with Sam, who was super hilarious and added a much needed comedic line whenever there was a tense moment. He's totally became my favorite character (and not just because I have a weakness for Sams). Since this was the last book, some of our favorite characters throughout the series had to die, or get mangled or sacrifice themselves nobly and I'll admit, I cried. I cried a lot.
