What Every Body Is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent's Guide to Speed-Reading People by Marvin Karlins, Joe Navarro

5.0

This is a great book for the everyday person who is curious about reading body language or wants to improve their understanding of people. What I enjoy about this is the explanation of the human brain / psyche behind physical behaviours and reactions. It's all logical, though it may not be things you think of all the time. I also appreciate the warning at the end that this is not about becoming a human lie detector: this is about understanding people and their reactions, and seeing which topics in conversation you should move towards or avoid to get a better understanding of the situation. I can see the information in this book enlightening everything from everyday interactions to important business meetings. It's easy to read, so I recommend giving this book a shot.
