Nina is 17 and going through her first major heartbreak.  However, when Nina drinks to try to numb the pain, she has no limit.  One night, while drunk, Nina is raped by a man she met at a nite club.  After a string of self destructive incidents, the truth finally comes out and Nina is forced to face not only her own inner demons, but to find the courage to face the monster who raped her.  This book is deep dive into a young woman's experience of alcoholism and the emotional trauma and fallout that so many woman experience after living through a trauma.  This book hit really close to home for me. Nina will not be relatable, or likeable, or understood by everyone, but she was to me. Anyone who has been touched by alcoholism or sexual assault, either personally or by someone they love, will find enrichment from this book.
