UNSUB by Meg Gardiner

3.0

Caitlin Hendrix’s has one case that has haunted her her entire life. As the daughter of the lead investigator on the first go around of the case, Caitlin is tapped to be a part of the investigation of the serial killer who has haunted the Bay Area for over 20 years and is back with a vicious plan. Caitlin is determined to catch this unsub once and for all but will it break her like it broke her father?

While this book was a good mystery thriller, I found myself bored for the first half of the book. It seemed like the past was such an important part of the case, that the majority of the book was spent recapping what the first investigation found and there really wasn’t any headway until Caitlin found a connection about halfway through. I’m all for multiple povs but this one had me kind of annoyed with all the different ones we kept jumping to. Once the ball start rolling, I was hooked and things moved fast. The take down of the unsub was so well written and through Caitlin we were able to see when she began to put the pieces together in her head. The ending definitely has me contemplating continuing the series though
