vicariouslykari 's review for:

Meeting Millie by Clare Ashton
1.0

nothing happens (including falling in love)

Review breakdown:

Writing: this is dual pov and dual timeline which is meh for me. the writing itself didn't really work for me.

characters: the only emotions I felt for them was either nothing or negative. was not rooting for them together or separate. really just didn't care about these people at all

plot: a lesbian falls in love with her straight best friend in college and it ruins the friendship. they reunite ten years later. the execution of this plot didn't work for me. the way things ended between them in college seemed like a damn good reason to never speak again. at no point in this story did I believe they fell in love. I wasn't even sold on the friendship. just a bunch of super bland interactions and the "love" just appears one day and really seems to focus on their physical attraction to each other more than anything.

vibes: struggled to get through this. didn't care for a single person in this book.
