The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
5.0

The rare book that hurts to finish it. Luckily I just ordered the sequel. High fantasy at its best! True-to-life lessons, intricate system of magic, masterful storytelling, and believable yet complex characters.
This novel tells the story of Kvothe, a hero whose flaming-red hair matches his personality and wit perfectly. His struggles as a performer and street rat in childhood lead to his undertaking the life of a student in the renowned University. His successes and failures in the past are mingled with small interludes that tell the story of the present day, and this style of writing makes for quite an exciting read.
