The Witches of BlackBrook by Tish Thawer

1.0

I couldn't get more than a few chapters into it. Aside from the too-perfect characters and awkward dialogue, I'm tired of authors twisting Wicca - an actual religion - to simply be synonymous with magic. It's lazy, unimaginative, and overdone. The only instance I've seen it pulled off is in Cate Tiernan's Sweep series, which manages to capture the spirit of the religion and differentiate between those who simply practice the religion and those who practice the religion and have magical powers.
