Istyria book blog ~ B's world of enchanted books

Wow. Even after reading it the second time, this book still blows my mind. I still have a hard time finding the right words to say here. Just like I did when I wrote that stupid, very short review. But that's why I wanted to read it again. Because it's that amazing. And it deserves a good review.

After the unexpected death of her father, Layken moves to a place far away from the only home she's ever known with her mom and brother. There she meets Will Cooper, the attractive boy that lives across the street with his brother. And it seems like every thing in her life is looking good, but sometimes life just doesn't go that way. Sometimes it just gets in your way.

I loved this book. It made me fall in love with Colleen Hoover, this brilliant amazing author. It made me fall in love with a new form of poetry. Slam poetry. It teached me things about life and the fact that sometimes things don't go as planned. And that's a good thing. I had so many feels in this book. Especially when there was slam poetry involved. It brought tears to my eyes. Because it's so relatable. And the writing is just amazing. Colleen is one of my favorite authors now and I just add her books to my shelves. I don't care what they're about, I just want to read them. Yeah, the romance seems like insta-love, but I believed it in this book because it happened to me this way. And it's not insta-love really. And there's so much more going on than the two of them and their romance.

Layken is just a great character. I could relate to her and her problems. She's stronger than I was though. And I loved Will. Such an amazing guy! And Kel and Caulder, they made me laugh so much. And I love them! I just love everyone in this book and I feel for them.

This is one of the best books in the genre. If you love Young Adult Contemporary, you should definitely read this if you haven't already. If you have, re-read it! It's still as good as the first time you read it. I know it was for me.
