I didn't know much about this book, apart from BookTok really liking it.
Evelyn retelling her story to Monique was interesting. I spent the whole time reading it switching between liking and disliking Evelyn for her actions in the past.
Sure it was a different much more dangerous time to be anything but straight, I still hated her for hurting Cecelia over and over again.
Im glad that in the end she got better and i feel sorry for her, for enduring almost every loss a person can experience.
All in all it was a good story, but I found myself skimming some section, especially the ones from the present, I just wasn't as interested in Monique's life, as in Evelyn's.
