"That's kind of a privileged perspective...You're shaming Lily for wanting to fit into the society around her, which might be a natural impulse if you're someone who has the choice to belong. But fitting in looks different when you're left out by default." (p.163)
Loved this follow up to Lobizona. It was a slow start for me but I love the way Garber worked it all together (and left it open for #3). The world building was excellent but the plot dragged a bit. I also found that there are so many characters, I had to look back at Lobizona a bit. However, even with all of that, I loved the themes in this book of identity, belonging, and accepting oneself for being different all while accepting the changing world (and dealing with people's views and beliefs holding on to the past and knowing that they need to change). This has a lot more sexual content, which I found unnecessary.
