This book is a hard one to rate. If I was going off the first quarter I would easily have given it a five star. It was fast paced, engaging and I needed to read faster to know more. Then it kind of took a turn.

This book has a tendency to introduce new characters and give them very fleshed out stories at inconvenient times. Right as you got hooked on persons story it would flip to another narrator and kind of drag you back or throw you into someone else’s history. It just felt like the author wanted to include all these narratives but they got thrown in at times that pulled me out of the story. I think this book had a lot of interesting ideas behind it but ultimately I was left with a lot of questions that left me feeling pretty bleh at the end.

Like seriously, what was the deal with the aliens?
