If You Still Recognize Me by Cynthia So
5.0
This book is more about self discovery, acceptance, growth and I honestly think it’s bloody well written.
I started this book with no expectations, I wanted to read this with an empty slate and I’m so glad I did. For those who prefer romantic scenes, unfortunately, I have to inform you that the romance between the main love interest isn’t the main focus here.
It’s more of the journey of getting there, and the other aspects of life that joined in while that was happening. Truth be told, this book got me rather emotional because certain parts just reminded me too much of my own family, but to see growth from that kind of struggle is so, so heartwarming— even if the growth is not as big as you’d like it be.
100% recommend it to anyone who simply wants to witness the journey of a teen, and how she learn to embraced herself, her family flaws & her own confusion.
