Nives by Sacha Naspini

5.0

I read this for Fountain's Far Away Book Club, which focuses on books in translation, and because of the glowing review given by my boss Kelly, who along with other booksellers, love this book.

It's a short read, but even if it was longer, it would feel quick, because you don't want to put the book down as Nives, newly widowed, rings up her vet when her chicken begins to act strangely. But then! Their conversation covers a lot of ground, from hypnotized chickens, to curses and ghosts, and then to a tangled web of secrets. And that ending is so good! Definitely recommending!
