The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis

4.0

I probably would have rated this 3.5 stars if I could give half ratings, but I figure I'll round up. While not as elegant or fancy as what I remember from the other Narnia books, it does help to setup some of the reasons why things are the way they are in Narnia. That being said, it's definitely a prequel and its sole purpose is to tell you how things came to be, not be a riveting masterpiece.

All in all, this was the first book my daughter and I read together so it will always have a special place in my heart.
