A deadly plague. A castle no one can leave. A mysterious stranger.

Beyond Those Gilded Walls is the PERFECT gothic romance for your autumn TBR, and if I did a mental happy dance when I received my ARC ... I did an Olympics-worthy breakdance routine when I finished this book.

Odyssa is one determined FMC -- everything she does is for her family, and she is relentless in her pursuit of keeping her promise to take care of them. That is her single driving force, and she doesn't care what happens to her as long as she fulfills it. Then we have Tallon: the Prince's advisor/enforcer who everyone fears (except Odyssa) ... and the one who teaches Odyssa that she does, indeed, have something left to lose. Their slow-burn chemistry -- whether it's across a ballroom, in a shadowy hallway or a stolen moment in a bedroom -- is perfect.

What I loved:

- All of it (seriously)
- A new morally grey MMC to swoon over
- The hurt/comfort (which goes both ways)
- A ghost cat
- Magic tattoos
- His nickname for her

Spice, forced proximity, Edgar Allan Poe vibes -- this book has it all, and I absolutely think you'll want to bump it to the top of your fall reading list.
