Pathfinder by Orson Scott Card
3.0

This seemed more like a dissertation than a novel. Nonetheless, it held my attention through the entire book. The identity of his father kind of disappointed me, though. It felt a bit meaningless for him to be trained by a machine. I would have liked to see one person who genuinely cared for Rigg. Not only that, but Rigg acted like a grown-up for most of the book. It seemed...rather out of place that he always seemed to know what to do. It's almost worth reading just for the explanations of time travel, though.
