i'd had this on my to read shelf for some time now but had been putting it off. i shouldn't have, that's on me. i'm on a mission to read from more black authors and listen intently to a range of black voices. and if you're in the same boat as me put this one at the top of your list. this group of honest, hard hitting, important poems deserves no less then five stars.
