The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

The second book in the Darkest Powers trilogy, I started reading this book right after I finished the first one. I honestly could not wait to start reading.

In the beginning, I still hated Chloe's Aunt Lauren because of what she did in the first book but after a few chapters in, I understood why she thought she was going the right thing. But I still wanted to kick Rae for being a little punk. Yea yea yea, she was scared so what.

OK, Tori in this book is not that annoying like in the first. I actually had myself feeling sorry for her and the way the boys, Simon and Derek, were treating her.

It's not like her mother shows any compassion towards her at all for her to show back. I understood why she was the way she is. I also enjoyed some pages with her and Chloe. She KIND OF starting to show some feelings towards her but that was cut off after she nearly left Chloe to die at one point.

I can never get tired of Derek and Chloe's scenes. I totally ship them ever more after this book. But Derek still has his problem with expressing his feelings and words properly. As well as lashing out when he's annoyed with something or someone.

Chloe on the other hand with her and her powerful powers.

Damn.

Even though Chloe has feelings for Simon, you can tell she has feelings for Derek as well. To bad.

OK, Liz now.

Every time she appears, i'm sad. Even though Chloe can see her and talk to her, its still so sad and depressing.

But she is a bad ass ghost though. Don't mess with her.

Oh, I cant forget about the werewolves scene and fight as well.

Its all bad ass.

I feel this book is even better then the first. It has more action scenes in this one and it will keep you wanting more. As well as this book ending, it will have you asking questions and curiosity.
