4 stars. I would have enjoyed this more if the book i read right before it werent also talking in the past tense. It truly feels like a history book a noble would read in their studies of the Targaryen dynasty. Being written as a history book it feels kind of dry at times and im not getting as invested as i would if it were written in the present tense. Im looking forward to reading something speaking of the present now. That being said I did really enjoy this book. I have watched GoT and all thats out of House of The Dragon at the moment so Im also looking forward to how the HoTD makers will interpret the future happenings. Some crazy stuff happens and theyre making Rhaenyra the main character of sorts and well, she dies so idk if theyll end the show there or not. I would love to see onwards from Rhaes death as well but we’ll have to see.
