Scaramouche: A Romance of the French Revolution by Rafael Sabatini

adventurous emotional fast-paced
  • Diverse cast of characters? No

3.5

This book is set in the lead-up to the French Revolution, and the main characters spend time discussing issues involving systemic abuse of power, the appropriateness of violent protest, and related issues -- so although it's intended as a diverting adventure story, I wouldn't recommend it at this particular moment for someone seeking a diverting adventure story to take their mind off things.
