Some Flowers by Walt Hunter

5.0

Beneath the cover, reminiscent of some extinct bird... (which is fitting for the subject matter, but do writers ever actually get to pick their poem book covers) is piled on paradox of winter beaches, saved places with no trees, no birds and Pennsylvania. Hunter alludes to a doomed future and how to remember things lovingly--properly even. The writer pushes pastoral as a call to action. Even the title (Some) Flowers; meaning we have a few so let's appreciate the ones we've got here.
