What a journey

Out of all the books in this series, so far, Ryder is my absolute favourite.
This book is not like the others, you get regular glimpses of past events, that brought Branna and Ryder together. Going back to the beginning of their relationship makes the distance that has grown between them ever present. The void in their relationship is heart breaking. I was reduced to tears on more than one occasion.
I struggled to put this book down for any length of time and every time I did I was in a rush to get back to it. It had its claws in me right from the outset.
I think the intensity I felt is because you 'see' their relationship throughout the series. Knowing how things were going, courtesy of the other books, made needing to know the outcome more intense.
The past comes back to haunt them and the outcome of those events broke me. I did not expect that turn of events. My heart was in my mouth for a long time afterwards.
Ryder is beyond doubt my favourite.
