This was a wild ride that kept me guessing. There were so many twists and turns. It was a rollercoaster of events and emotions that made it very angsty. I luxuriated in the lighter moments for Valerie because I hoped it gave her the strength needed for everything that did or might happen.
Valerie is a strong person. The previous and continuous betrayals would have broken anyone. I really respect her character despite continuous adversities that affect not only her but everyone in this world.
One of the reasons I was interested in this series was the reference to Vampire Academy. I understand why that’s the case and think the world and characters have a richness that differentiates it from the series at the same time.
