Glow: The Revelations of Oriceran by Michael Anderle, Martha Carr, S.M. Boyce

4.0

So, I can say that I believe the MC of the book to be inspired by a real person, because I have a friend who acts EXACTLY like her. Head strong and listens to NOBODY until 11th hour and then somehow pulls a miracle out of her ass to stop things from becoming a disaster. The MC does have a reason to be jaded and angry af. With that said, I do like how the other people around her know about what's going on and try to help her cope with her grief as well as trying to adapt to their new surrounds all in the span of like 2 weeks. A LOT happens quickly, but then the book slows down and evens out relatively quickly. I enjoyed the book. I also love the wizard who's teaching the young MC how to control what she's becoming and that her best friend isn't one "woe me" type of people. When something is off, she's let's the MC know she's being a dunce. The witty banter back and forth and the dark and light tones weaved in together make for an enjoyable read.
