I love this characters.
Heartstopper is the only book by Alice Oseman that I hadn't read. However, I met Nick and Charlie about seven years ago, when I read Solitaire, my first Oseman book.
Back there, Charlie is so troubled... it's really sad to see what he goes through, and it makes me even sadder that all of that happens after Heartstopper. Because, Heartstopper, while not always light, is definitely full of hope and beauty and tenderness. I'm actually re-reading Solitaire at the moment, and Heartstopper's Happy Charlie is the only thing that can counterarrest Sad Charlie. I love to see him being happy here, falling in love. Even if it's not easy most of the time, we know that the outcome is worth it.
(Also, let's mention those mini-comics at the end... with how the book ended, the first one made me really happy. And hi, Michael and Aled!)
Anyway. I'm so glad to have finally read this. Alice Oseman is one of my favorite authors, if not my favorite, and I'm so so glad to live in HER world.
