Stormy Persuasion
by Johanna Lindsey
Johanna Lindsey is the first romance author I can ever remember reading. My mother has most of the Johanna Lindsey books in her collection, and I can remember being 13 or 14 years old and my mom reading Fires of Winter to my younger brother and me in the evenings. She loved these books because they reminded her so much of my father when he was away at sea (he was Navy), and now that I'm married, I have a better understanding of why. Ever since listening to my mom read Fires of Winter, I was hooked on romance novels, Johanna Lindsey in particular. So I devoured my mom's entire collection within a few short weeks and started looking for other romance authors I could indulge in while I waited for more books by Lindsey to be published. I found some bad apples, but there were some true gems that I discovered and have become a favorite of mine.
I love the Malory series, so I was very excited to get this book from the library so quickly. When I first started reading, it seemed like the author was a bit rusty. But I soon got into the story and forgot all about that. I read the book in two long reading sessions because I couldn't get enough of it!
In between these bouts of reading sessions, I found myself browsing Johanna Lindsey's website to see what other books she's had published in the last few years that I've missed out on. I was surprised to learn there were more than a few. So I'll be requesting those from the library as well.
I can't wait to read Jack's story! I hope it's the next one!
