Mostly just disappointed that it didn’t cover all the information I expected, the pacing was inconsistent (I’m looking at you Beren, Luthien, and Turin), and the chronology went haywire in Akallabeth and The Rings of Power. I am, despite those setbacks, more eager to approach the Histories now.
Lastly, everything has an almost exhausting list of names, like one or more per language/group; this shows his depth of craft but lack of tact in delivery.
