Gone to See the River Man by Kristopher Triana

5.0

Every single trigger warning there is...

The flow in the first half evokes a deep dread that amplifies a fear of going forward in the story. Even when the first shocking thing comes upon you, it is so quickly overshadowed by the build up of so much worse coming your way. Once you're in the thick of it, the words become liquid in a pace so fast you can't put it down. The subjects are indeed profoundly terrible but the writing pulls you further into the thralls and I personally couldn't get enough. I love this book endlessly and hope more take the plunge and experience the thrill that darkness has to offer.
