okay.. i was torn between 3.75 and 4 stars but ultimately decided i love this story so i’m rounding up. i have minor mixed feelings about this one. on the one hand i feel like divine rivals walked so ruthless vows could RUN, but on the other hand i feel like this book could’ve been slightly shorter than it is. some parts seemed to really drag, but some of the key plot points happened in a flash? idk maybe it’s just me!
overall, i loved this duet and iris and roman will go down in history babyyy they’re the perfect soulmates. i usually write reviews solely on my emotions but i wanted to mention that i LOVE rebecca ross’s writing style. the story of iris and roman is beyond beautiful.
side notes / spoilers:
- iris is one of the bravest FMC’s. she’s better than me bc some of the things she did for roman whewww i would’ve found me a new man eventually 😭🤣
- if anything dragged in this story, it should’ve been roman’s memories. i would’ve liked if there was more conflict in that aspect but maybe das just me
- i really wanted to see more of the ‘found family’ dynamic
