I genuinely think this is one of the most important social commentary fiction books I have ever read. The insight into racism in higher education and racism as experienced by Asian women was incredibly enlightening for me and I enjoyed learning about it through Ingrid and her experiences. This is an important book for anyone who considers themselves an activist for social change and anti-racist. The story of this novel along with the social commentary made this a delicious and fast paced read. I also adored the multimedia elements of interviews, news articles, and other resources that assisted with Ingrid’s journey. I cannot recommend it enough.
