i don’t think the book was bad, i think it just wasn’t for me. i find lanie’s character severely underdeveloped. the sister’s story was good at the start, but i don’t understand the switch from “i don’t want to hear about her ever again, she’s dead to me” to “she is my sister, she is the only family i have left”. also i can’t shake off that weird passage “you’ll be a good mother”, why were they all of the sudden talking about having children? can we just skip that please.
i think i was waiting for the WOW revelation, in the end the twist wasn’t even that grand. but it was entertaining nevertheless.
