First zero star of the year? Yup.
This was tough to get through. A ton of half baked ideas and no real characterization. Eleanor, the MC, is whiny, brainless, and annoying beyond words. I listened to the audiobook and maybe the narrator made it worse because her voice was very whiny. She is a 17 year old child whose grandmother put her in charge as she was dying-- after having exiled her earlier in her life, without explanation, knowing she didn't remember much of her childhood and had no real connection to her family. A child is now "in charge" of her elder grandfather, and her father and mother? Hokay!!! No one has any real goals, including Eleanor, and no one is believable. There are plenty of other faults (like Eleanor's crush on a 95 year old thrall zombie 😬😬😬 who has no freewill of his own-- and it's not really even explained why everyone in the family wants to have sex with this zombie outside of "well your gay grandfather and grandmother had sex with him so now we all want to"???????) but I won't get into them. Oof.

I finally finished it at 2.5* speed and it was a *chore*. All of these ideas could have been really well executed but they just fell flat without any real monster building.

If you like supernatural horror, skip this, it falls flat on its face. I wouldn't be surprised to learn this was a booktok book because there's literally no meat to it, just a cool hook to reel you in way. Ignore it, find something else.
