I don’t think I can recommend this. While there were things I liked about it, there are two major yikes:

1) The painful detail with which the main character describes her eating disorder which will be super triggering for some people, I’m sure.

2) How the fat character is portrayed.
The way her body is talked about.. adored and also abhorred. The comparisons made about her body. The way she’s essentially reduced to her body. Yuck.

I’m VERY interested in hearing this authors relationship to fatness and motivations here. Cuz, as a fat woman, this doesn’t feel right.

I really liked the writing. I loved how the author narrated the audiobook. I liked the sex scenes and sex fantasy and dreams and thoughts about faith.

I just wanted so much for the fat character and was disappointed and grossed out by how her body was basically the only focus.
