I found this a very relaxing read, a collection of moments rather than a specific story. I particularly liked the parts with the two women talking/gossiping. The style of those chapters reminded me of taking naps on the beach in summer, when you could tune out and just let strangers voices wash over you, catching snippets here and there. That’s what the whole book felt like to be honest, I mainly came away with feelings of nostalgia and calm. I would have liked a bit more depth on the characters or something else to hold on to but I appreciate then it wouldn’t have felt like a nap on the beach. So maybe that’s the point…? Anything more than fleeting normalcy would have left a different feeling.
