A story about a warrior woman who had been able to help her family survive the great depression that hit the United States of America which started in 1929 along with the dust bowl in Texas in the 1930s.
In her journey she became a role model for her fellow called Okies migrates travelled to California in a trial to find work and a better life however faced the ugly face of Capitalism and the greedy landowners who treated them as second degree citizens paying them very low wages seeing that they would accept anything as they were desperate to find jobs to survive.
Elsa had been able to educate her kids through all these hardships and her daughter became the first person in their family to go to college.
It is a story about survival, love and hope for better future.
