The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak
5.0

“The quest for Love changes us. There is no seeker among those who search for Love who has not matured on the way. The moment you start looking for Love, you start to change within and without."

This book. *chef's kiss*
Elif Shafak said, let's talk about love, cynicism, friendship, human interaction, religion, faith, spirituality and grief, all at once and delivered it beautifully.
No wonder this book is celebrated to the level it has been at this moment. I loved the way we delve so deep into each subject that it feels really personal. This visceral sense of knowing that by the end of this book, i could be smiling or sobbing, and i was somewhere in between. The beautiful way everything is depicted lends so well to the flow of the book that you fall in love with everyone in this.
Ella, a mother of three children from Massachusets, America, takes on a job a literary assistant to read and submit a report on a new novel "Sweet Blasphemy" written by Aziz H Zahara. It's a story about Rumi and Shams of Tabriz, a story of finding oneself through love and companionship, finding God and spirituality. While reading the manuscript Ella herself goes through a life changing journey within. To say the least, this is a really well written beautiful book. I am in awe and cannot say enough about it. In the current political scenario i think this book can bring many together rather than tear is apart❤️
