Certainly better than the first in the series, and it now makes me want to read through the entirety of Coffee Gets Cold. Back in April 2024, I rated #1 at 3.45 stars. After a full afternoon of reading, I come back with a rating for #2 at 4.40 stars.
The stories this time felt better, always catching me with tears in my eyes at the end of each. The near changing of the guards of the spook, and then the actual changing of the guards really did a number on me.
I can now feel comfortable actually recommending this series to others with the caveat of "Continue reading. Don't stop after the first book."
