I have made it pretty well know that I am not a fan of paranormal books, even paranormal romance, so it may come as a complete shock when I say that I absolutely LOVED this book.
Honestly, I should've known that if anyone could change my opinion it would be Jennifer L. Armentrout. Actually, I'm not sure why it took me so long to pick up one of her YA books.
Okay, so maybe it was because I was afraid that I still wouldn't like paranormal and that it would somehow taint my high opinion of her, considering Wait for You is one of my all-time favorite reads and Cam Hamilton is my ultimate BBF. I was definitely being irrational.
I was pretty much hooked on this story right away. I was all over Zayne and couldn't wait to see how that played out. Then I met Roth and quickly switched teams. I'm so #TeamRoth.
Besides the hot male characters, I was also kind of in love with Layla. I love that she was a strong character trying to do the right thing but brave enough to question what the right thing really was. She was sort of kick-ass and when she really found her strength it was awesome!
Now I am obsessed and can't wait for Stone Cold Touch.
However, Jennifer announced on her blog last week that we, the readers, would have a say in who Layla ends up with in the final book, Every Last Breath. See her BLOG POST for more information.
I'm also fully devoted to starting the Lux and Convenant series as well. I have a lot of catching up to do!
