This was basically 2 books. One with the IRS plotline, and one with the IRS guy trying to get Melly back after he lied to her about who he was. Because of that, Theodore (the male MC) had a personality shift part way through. He went from a "geek" to a "hot and commanding" type. Also, both Melly and Theodore used sex in coercive ways with each other.

That being said, I did find it amusing, and his quest to get Melly back drew me in (possibly because that's when we learned more about the lion world, which is my favorite part of these series).
