The Good Girl's Guide to Getting Lost: A Memoir of Three Continents, Two Friends, and One Unexpected Adventure by Rachel Friedman

3.0

This book grew on me. Ireland annoyed the heck out of me. Australia was okay, but boring. South America elevated this to 3 stars from 2.

Overall I enjoyed the story, could relate to it, got emotionally involved, etc... but the first-person present narrative was like nails on a chalkboard. Every time I started to relax into the story, a particularly awkward present-tense sentence would throw me.
