A Study in Scarlet Women by Sherry Thomas
5.0

This novel is a clever reimagining of the Sherlock Homes narrative. It isn't a retelling of his cases, but a reflection on how life would look if the sharp-witted, observant detective was a woman who had to contend with the strictures of victorian life. Charlotte Homes wants to be independent of her family and not forced into marriage in order to support herself and her family. She takes matters into her own hands and creates a brother- "Sherlock". This is such a fun nostalgic read with a great twist. We were without power recently and I devoured it in a day.
