indulgent and vapid use of roman names imo
i think the naming conventions are the most annoying part of it all to me but i can see the influences from Republic but I also think Brown flops in that he picks and chooses what elements of the Republic he wants to replicate while also falling into all the failings of the Republic. I think it’s misogynistic and uninteresting and the dialogue is flat. I think that the main character is unsympathetic and boring and has no personality.
