A Dutiful Boy by Mohsin Zaidi

I'm so glad this memoir exists! Zaidi covers important aspects of queerness, family, culture and religion. The story also contains a view on what it is like to be part of the (in this case very privileged) academic community when you come from a more humble background. Personally, I related most to this aspect. But everything was told with a lot of care and respect (and love) for all people involved in his life that are part of this story. The struggles of Zaidi and his family felt quite real and I definitely teared up for some scenes. I thought the story was told really well and I would recommend to listen to the audiobook which is read by Zaidi himself.
